A local brewery today announced that it was sponsoring the Severn Area Rescue Association (SARA).The Severn Vale Brewing Company's owner Steve McDonald said that he would donate five pence for every pint of the brewery's Severn Bells beer between now and September.  A similar scheme last year raised funds for St. James' church in Dursley.full story

A beer brewed in a disused milking parlour has won the supreme championship in SIBA's 2008 National Beer Competition.Severn Sins, a dark stout from Severn Vale Brewing Company, which is based on a farm in the Cotswold village of Cam, beat 342 other draught ales, ranging from milds to specialty beers, on its way to being voted national champion.full story

Severn Bells will be served by the Reverend Janet Bromley at the Old Spot, Dursley every weekend throughout August to raise funds for St James' Church. The beer is donated to the Old Spot and the full £2.50 per pint goes towards the church repairs.
